Joan Rivers Slams Jennifer Lawerence!

That Joan Rivers is a joke. An unfunny one at that. She's made a career of making fun of people more talented than her, better looking, and more successful.

Does everyone remember when Joan Rivers made fun of Elizabeth Taylor? Sure, she's just a third rate Don Rickles.

Joan Rivers is now making fun of Jennifer Lawerence. What world am I in?

First thing: Jennifer Lawerence doesn't pretend to be a starlet.She doesn't sell sex. Let's take a look at her big movies:

1. Wintersbone---She got attention for her acting. Certainly not her pretty clothes, makeup, or anything else. She was playing a poor Ozarks girl.

2. Hunger Games--Ditto. She was playing a character that started out dressing like a Appalachian coal miner. Then she was running in the woods fighting for her life.

3. Silver Linings Playbook--She was a depressed woman that loved to dance.

None of these roles got attention for the way the character looked. They got attention for the strong action.

Rivers is a bitter old woman.

American Hustle's Vintage Outfits and Costumes

The movie is getting good reviews, and alot of people are mention the period costumes.

Part of what makes a movie so authentic is the attention to detail. You watch a movie that is set in the 1970's or 1980's and you want to see real cars from the era as well as real clothing. If you don't, then you always have it in the back of your mind that its just not right. That's why period movies are so expensive to make. You have to have the money for the set design as well as the cars and the clothing.

The director who made Silver Lining Playbook is back with another movie featuring the same two leads from that movie: Jennifer Laurence and Bradley Cooper. They are joined by Christian Bale and Amy Adams.

The movie has gotten lots of rave reviews, and many people have said it has one of the best costume designs in recent years. Everything is perfect and fits with the timeperiod. The dresses looked like Halston and other famous looks from the period. You have some disco, as well as some other styles.

The mens costumes are also on the mark. Alot of the time you can say that a mans costume is not really a big consideration. That's true of alot of time periods, since a classic suit always has a similar look, but in the 1970's there were really flashy mens suits. Most people think that these suits are not good looking, but if you are going to make a movie about that time period then you better make it right.

Daenerys Targaryen Costume: Where to Buy One not Make One

One of the hardest parts of wearing a Daenerys costume for Halloween, or Cosplay, is the outfit. They don't sell an officially licensed version and it can be hard to find a good match for her outfits.

If you like Emilia Clarke's costumes and want to wear one for Halloween or another costume party then take a look at some of the photos below. I tried to find some good matches for her various outfits.

If you are looking for the warrior look. The one that she wears alot of the time when she is about with the Dothraki is the Khaleesi costume look. This is something that you can accomplish by getting a halter style top in a brown color and adding a platinum blonde wig and some jewelry.

This is good for a Daenerys costume for her Queen and regal outfit. She wears something very similar.

The main aspects that match Daenerys outfit are:

1. Halter Style Top
2. Smocked Bodice
3. Flowing length while also being flattering cut and not baggy.

It comes in an array of colors you can choose from including: Blue, Green, Black, Magenta, Yellow

It's also something you can wear more than one a year

. This is if you want to design the rough style outfit that Emilia Clarke wears when she is traveling with the Dothraki..

This is what she would wear. You can wear this with dark pants or a dark skirt. Add a platinum wig and chunky jewelry and it will look awesome.

This is a skirt that would be a good match for the halter top show above. If you had the platinum wig, and a toy dragon, then it would be perfect.

Daenerys wears heavy boots so any type of boots would work. Cowboy boots included.

There's also this costume. It looks awesome. It's not something you can wear other than to costume parties and Halloween parties like the other outfits, but it is another great idea to consider.

Sexy Catwoman Costume: Dark Knight Inspired

If you're a fan of the Batman series, then you know how cool Catwoman's outfit is. It is a variation on the classic theme of the black catsuit. This gets pretty good reviews. The material is strechy without being too tight and loose. It also comes in a whole bunch of sizes. Make sure you get the right fit. I tend to stay away from the one size fits all costumes.

These are Catwoman costumes, not cat suits. There is a slight difference. Catsuits are designed to be worn for Halloween, but also for cosplay, S&M, fetish type role playing, and lots of other situations. The CatWoman costume is really only a Halloween costume.

The catwoman costume that you see here gets moderate reviews. It is designed only to be used for a Halloween party, not as something you pull out for roleplaying more than a few times. If you are interested in a catsuit, then they do make really high quality and nice types: Wet Look, PVC, and other catsuits.

The photo above is of a costume that resembles the Ann Hathaway one from The Dark Knight.

If you wanted to wear a cat woman costume like Hale Berry wore in her role as Catwoman. That costume was more revealing and was also really sexy.

This is the style that closest resembles the one that Halle Berry wore.

This is really one of the classic Halloween costumes for women.

 A Witch is an awesome pick because it is great for any type of party. You can wear it no matter what body size. And it is really sexy. Some of the Halloween costumes that are sold as being "sexy" are designed for ladies who want to show off alot of skin.



That's fine, and more power to you if you can. Like they say: If you got it, flaunt it.

But if you want an outfit that is sexy and doesn't reveal too much, then this is an awesome choice.

There are a bunch of hot witch costumes. Some are fantastic for plus size gals, while others are perfect for ladies who do want to show off some skin.

Sexy Sailor Costume

You  might think that you're the only one looking for a sexy sailor costume, but there are lots of cool designs. There are many women who love the nautical themed outfits and therefore you have a bunch of options. There are cute pin up style costumes as well as cool sexy sailor outfits.

Some of these are very typical of the type you would see in the classic pin up posters and artwork. These have a really cool design and they work well at any party. You can also get them in plus sizes you just have to check and make sure that the particular costume you like is available in the size you like.

This is a sexy look that comes with the sailor hat. You can get stockings as an extra, but you really don't need them. You could wear your own or none.

This is a classic look. It has the sailing motif on the dress and the familiar maritime color pattern.

This is a really sexy sailor romper style outfit. It's a 2 piece outfit.

They also sell matching shoes. Pumps with a cool anchor design.

The costume gets good reviews. There are several different reviews from women of different sizes.

I like this one. It's one of the more sexy designs. It has a really nice nautical sailor design and it is very flattering to a physique and shows off your curves really well.

Sexy Zombie Costumes

If you're a fan of zombies, then the best Halloween costume is absolutely a sexy zombie costume. The great thing about these costumes is that there are so many different variations.

You can basically turn any regular costume into a zombie costume. There are zombie cheerleaders, teachers, cops, zombie strippers, and everything in between.

Sexy Zombie Bride

This is a great pick. You get a great great dress that has the tattered look and comes with the stitching. It is way less than buying a real wedding dress and trying to tailor it to look like something that a zombie bride would be wearing.

It is also short and easy to move around in. You will have to get the accessories like the stockings. The veil comes with the costume. I like the look of either spider web stockings or fishnets. If you don't like them you don't have to wear them. All you need to do is add some cool zombie makeup. I'm going to include a bunch of zombie makeup tutorials at the bottom of the page.

I like this one too. It's not as tattered and distress looking as the zombie bride costume above. This is more of a deathly or undead look. It's got great reviews from the ladies who got it.

Sexy Zombie Nurse

 

 

I have to say, it's probably one of my favorites. In all of the zombie movies, when everything hits the fan, the hospitals are taken over. So of course you will have zombie nurses. 

They are going to be dealing with the sick and the sick turn into zombies. Remember Sarah Polly in Dawn of the Dead? She was a nurse. She was at home when it happened, but you get the idea.

This costume  doesn't come with the stockings or stethoscope. Normally I say you don't need the extras, but I think they work really well here. You can basically wear any type of high heels or shoes you want, but I think that the blood splattered stockings and the stethoscope are really integral to the costume.

Sexy Zombie School Girl

 

This is one of the more popular outfits. The basics are there. Plaid skirt, tie, and torn up shirt. It looks really cool. 

 

If you add some really hot makeup and maybe bloody stockings then it would be a real winner.

You can also get a hot red wig to add.

This is a sexy and retro look. The dress looks much better when you see a bigger picture. It has loads of detail. 

 

It doesn't come with the wig, but I think that the wig is cool and would really make a hot look. 

You can add some dark makeup or even a wound to your face, if you're good with makup. There are some tutorials online that show you how to do all sorts of amazing zombie makeup.

Sexy Tinkerbell Costume

You looking for a sexy Tinkerbell costume? Oh but of course you are. That's why you're here. Those faeries are sexy aint they. That show True Blood had a great take on the sexy tinkerbell look with Sookies Fairy family. They looked like super cool pole dancers.


Of course you don't have to go that sexy, you can just make it a cute fairy costume. Or, if you are going clubbing you can get some wings for your back.

If you are looking for a Sexy Fairy outfit, then you have a lot more leeway with the design. The main component will be the wings, some glitter and a magic wand. You can then do all sorts of looks. Some ladies were a halter top or bikini top and do a bodypaint costume, others get a cool top that has some sort of neon color like a hot pink or neon green. Remember you are a magical creature after all.

You could wear sneakers, flats or high heels. I like the high heel look, but the it would work with all sorts of shoes.

The reason this costume is so cool is that it comes with a fiber optic light design. This lets you have a fairy costume that literally sparkles. It also comes with the Wings and Wand. 

I like this particular costume because it's really nice and it can be sexy, but its not over the top and it is not something that you need a super fit body to wear. It also got really great reviews from the ladies.

Sexy Rainbow Fairy Costume

This is a cool rainbow design. You don't even have to wait for Halloween. I've seen this on girls at clubs and it is a really popular outfit. EDC festivals, cosplay, anything you want. The rainbow pattern is super cute and sexy.

Adult Fairy Wings

It's very hard to find fairy wings that are not designed for children. Most are too small for adult women to wear. You can always get the entire costume, but if you only want the fairy wings, then you might have a tough time. Most of the ones they sell are too small.

The Classic Sexy Maid Costume

These are always super popular and not just around Halloween. Women love them because they are one of the most popular mens fantasies and they look super sexy. There are lots of examples from movies.

It has a sexy cut and a really deep plunging neckline.

Sexy Vampire Costumes In Film: Underworld to True Blood

There is a long history of sexy vampires dating back to the French vampire films of the 1960’s. The original films like Vampire Lovers staring Ingrid Pitt featured gothic dress, Victorian outfits. These were very similar to the outfits that you might see in a regular Hollywood movie. They were flowing dresses, though there were still more revealing than your normal Warner Brothers vampires (think the brides of Dracula, but more raunchy.)

You will see a similar sexy vampire costume in Francis Ford’s Dracula. Monica Bellucci wears an outfit that is based upon the old Hollywood style but is cut in a more modern way. In fact anytime you are going to see the brides of Dracula they are going to be portrayed in this manner. It’s only when you start to see a revising of the look and the content of the film that you will see something that starts to be more daring.

A movie like Underworld is a perfect example of the changing look of the vampire. Kate Beckinsale doesn’t wear long flowing dresses. She wears  a tight rubber suit that looks more kink and fetish than traditional vampire. But it works so well. She has it look like a steampunk gothic fetish club outfit, and it rocks. In the sequels it looks more sleak and less steampunk, but the overall design is still there.

If you want to do a sexy vampire costume that is traditional, then you will want to go with an old fashioned gown style. You can do this yourself either by using a dress that you already own and adding things like vampire teeth and pale makeup. Or you can get a dress from Amazon. They have a few different styles.

Vampire Costume

The other type of sexy vampire costume is going to be something that you see in movies like Underworld. It is a gothic inspired, steampunk look. It also can be overtly fetish inspired. A catsuit  paired with makeup and fake vampire teeth can be very effective.

Here are some cool looks inspired by the classic vampire.

This is a hooded look that has a spooky feel and is still sexy. If you want something that is classic and has a very Hammer Studies, Gothic vibe, then this is something you will like. You can add dark red lipstick, and fangs, and have an awesome outfit.

This is a bit more risque. It is shorter and it works well if you are like the dark red and black look. You can add your own personal touch like fishnet or other crazy leggins and get really high heels. It wouild make a super sexy outfit.

 I like this one because it has a lot of sass. Remember to check out what accessories you need to get. Some things like the hat are sold separately.

You might want to go as a Parisian vampire. One that might be seen hanging around the Moulin Rouge.

 A very sexy vixen. This outfit has lots of good reviews. Make sure to read what you are getting. Some things shown don't come in the basic costume, they are sold as exasperates. Alot of the time you don't have to get the separates, but in this case most of the ladies who got it said that it is totally worth it to get all of those separates.  

I like this because it looks like a vampire ballerina. Really very cool!

Another way to take it is to wear a gothic or steampunk type corset and use that over a white or black dress shirt. You can wear the vampire teeth and then you have a complete costume. Black jeans, slacks, or a skirt would work really well.

 

You can also get fake vampire fang bite marks to add to your neck. There are a bunch that are available online. If you shade around them they will look really cool.

Sexy Wonder Woman Costume: Two Great Halloween Outfits

You would never have thought that a television show from the 70's would still be so popular. The comic book was also really popular, but that can't account for why so many women and men love the wonder woman outfit. It is one of the most popular choices very year.

Wonder Woman is a really popular with women because it is a sexy costume that is not exploitative. There are critical studies about how important the character was to female characters in comic books. The character showed the possibility of a female character that was both tough and sexy. This is one reason why women love the outfit and the look. It shows that you can be both tough, powerful, and independent as well as strong.

Celebs seem to continue to love this outfit. You have Oliva Munn and  Kim Kardashian wearing this, and it shows up in television shows with Kaley Cuoco and Laura Prepon. Even supermodel Giselle Bundchen got into the act and showed up dressed as Wonder Woman.

The other cool thing about the outfit is that you can go retro with the boots and the metallic look, or you can do a modern look. You can also go as conservative as you like or choose to go really sexy. It also is a outfit that is not really hard to put together. There is no crazy makeup like when you do a vampire, zombie, or other scary outfit. The main thing is the costume which you can get online.

The classic sexy wonder woman outfit is styled after the original comic and the televison show. It has a skirt with stars, a red cape, and a gold tiara. You can also get a more modern outfit that has a sevier more body hugging bottom. There are a bunch of other designs that go after the same basic look with different stlyes. Some use full leggings, others have fishnet stockings (a definite modern update).

You could also design your own sexy wonder woman outfit by getting the pieces seperately. They sell the wristbands, the headbendm and boots. Some women get a wonder woman style bikini and wear that if they are going to a pool party. If you are thinking of putting it together realizze that the skirt and top are probally only going to be sold as a costume. You can get a wonder woman symbol tank top and panties, but the best seperates to get are going to be the cuffs and the boots. If you want to go really old school you can also get a golden lasso.

Daenerys Halloween Costume

Game of Thrones is one of the most popular television shows out there, and Daenerys or Khaleesi, is the certainly one of the most popular characters. This is true for fans of the books as well. Emilia Clarke became famous and her look and style on the show is one of the hottest Halloween costumes.

The Khaleesi costume or Daenerys costume is so popular that women all over are searching for ways to make it themselves because there is no official costume licensed by HBO.

One of the big parts of the outfit is the hair. Emily Clarke is a brunette, but in the show she has long flowing platnium blonde hair. So, no matter what style you choose you will want a cool looking hair. You can get a  Platinum Style Danerys Wig at Amazon.

You can see a woman making her own in the following video. It turns out really well. That said she does warn you that it takes a lot of work. If you don't know how to sew, then you probably want to find clothing that looks like the stuff Daenerys wears. She has a few different looks. There is the blue dress, the white dress from season 1, the warrior outfit she has as the Khalessi. Also, the blonde wig. Don't forget the plutonium blonde wig.

This is a great outfit. It has the look of the princess as well as the toughness that Daenerys exemplifies as a Khalessi.

The Blue Dress is something you should probably get from Amazon. I wouldn't try making that one. Or the white one either.

The first thing you should do is figure out which look you are going for: Daenerys--which is the princess style, flowing gown, long platinum blonde hair or the Khaleesi outfit--which is going to be more rough. You can use the same wig for each costume. You can wear the same dragon pin or broach. The main difference is going to be the dress or gown. Khalessi wears pants and a sort of corset. The video from Hey Nadine above shows you how to make your own. Or you can get a corset of brown halter top that has a similar look and add a platinum wig to it.

American Mary: Fetish Horror

American Mary was made by the Soska Sisters. It is a really cool horror film. You could compare it to the movie Excision with Annalynne McCord. Excision is probably a bit more "horror". American Mary is a closer relative to something like Dead Ringers by Cronenberg. While Excision was very close to May.

Why is American Mary interesting?

Well, its a Canadian horror. There are not that many. Recently you had AntiViral.by young Cronenberg.

American Mary, like young Cronenberg and Papa cronenbergs films, deals with body horror. But it has an added dimension. A fetish bodymod subculture. That's interesting. When you see the suspended doctor (you'll know the scene) you get a feel for something like Audition.

The lead actress is from the great Canadian horror Ginger Snaps( probably the best werewolf film of the last twenty years--Dog Soldiers included)


Katharine Isabelle is really great. Kind of reminds me of the Australian girl from The Loved Ones. 

The outfits in American Mary are straight fetish gothic. Really cool. But wasn't over the top. 

Here is the trailer for American Mary. Very cool movie. The directors, Jen Soska and Sylvia Soska, are in the movie. They play twins who are looking for a rather unorthodox surgery.

Most people hear the phrase Femme Fatale and think about Film Noir. But alot of the sexiest ones were in films made after. One only has to think of Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct or Kathleen Turner in Body Heat to see that there continues to be a great abundance of these roles.

Thats a good list for mainstream movies. When you get into slasher and horror films, then you have a whole new set. These women are often called Scream Queens. But I picked the ones who did more than just scream and were the driving force of the show. A classic scream queen that wasn't a femme fatale is someone like Jamie Lee Curtis.

This was a fantastic movie. Really unusual. Normally in the horror films, the Lillian is a guy and the girl is the hero, the Final girl. This movies turns that upside down. This is another example of why Australia is making the best horror out there.

Sheri Moon Zombie--The Devils Rejects

She has the classic look of a 1970's horror vixen yet she's doing modern horror with her husband Rob Zombie. She was awesome in Devils Rejects and was also in his other films: Halloween, House of 

Beatrice Dalle-- The Inside

A terrifying role. She is a fantastic french actress. She has the most unusual look. This is a great  film.

Gina Carano as Wonder Woman?

For fans of the Wonder Woman movie, this is really cool news. Gina is probably the best actress out there for the part. She certainly has the physicality. Adriane Paliacki was an awesome choice, but that show fell through for some reason. It would be cool if they put it back together as a movie. I think that anyone who saw Gina in Haywire would agree she is a super choice.

Adriane is probably a more classic choice, and she certainly had the look, but Gina would be great as well. She is a MMA fighter and has a super cool look. I think that alot of people were kind of wondering how the television show as going to be. David E Kelly was behind it. He was the guy that did alot of talky quirky stuff like Ally McBeal and The Practice. None of that was too reassuring for fans of wonder woman. Oddly enough, his wife in real life Michelle Pheifer would have been an awesome Wonder Woman.

That is the one thing about Gina as Wonder Woman. She has a sick body, totally awesome, but it is not what people think about when they think Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman didn't look tough. She had a slender physique, not a cross fit.

But I think that would work great. When I watch Gina Carano, I believe that she can actually fight. Because she can. She looks like she can beat up most guys. It would be a super cool and sexy movie.

Most Popular Places for Cosplay

If you like creating or buying costumes for cosplay, then you probably also want to see where you can wear them. Of course, there are tons of opportunities around Halloween. Basically any type of Halloween party is an opportunity to go out in your favoriate cosplay outfit. But if you are looking for a larger type of gathering there are a bunch you can go to.

Some are Sci-Fi themed, some are historical themed like RenFaires. I am going to give a few links to each of the main Cosplay Events and a brief description of each.

Ren Fair

Renaissance Fairs are  geared towards people who like dressing up as Maids, Knights, and other figures from the Medieval era. Most of the costumes are going to be historical based. You will see outfits that look like they are from a Shakespeare stage play. Unlike lots of other cosplay events, you don't see lots of makeup or body paint at a Ren Fair.

The great thing about  the RenFaires is that they are held all over the country. Many of the large Cosplay events are only in one location (ComicCon, Dragoncon) so if you don't live near the area it will be a big trip.

Dragon Con

 DragonCon takes place in Atlanta every year. It is one of the biggest sci-fi conventions. Lots of people go in regular clothes, but there are also lots and lots in cosplay. In fact, it is a bigger cosplay event than probably even the RenFair. You will see people in everything from Gladiator costumes to cartoon and superhero costumes.

Of course, you don't have to go to a big convention or RenFair to dress up. Most people only do cosplay for Halloween. It is popular in colleges also. There are lots of costume parties. Some of these costumes can be brought readymade from Amazon. Others are  better made. The Adam and Eve costume that you can find online doesn't look that great. The best ones are the ones that are homemade. They usually incorporate fake leaves and vines, fig leafs, and cool makeup. There are some cool designs to get inspiration from. The best, the ones you will see at Cosplay events, and from really enthusiastic couples, usualyl has the women in a bikini with fig leafs covering the top and bottom. The guy will also have fake fig leafs glued on to his shorts.

Vampire Bride and Dracula

If you want to do something like Vampire Bride and Dracula (or regular Vampire) then I would suggest getting the outfits already made. There are some cool and sexy vampire bride costumes, and really nice gothic vampire costumes.

For guys, the big part of the costume is going to be the makeupe and teeth. If you want to wear the cape, then yeah, you have to get that online. Most guys probably don't own a cape. But you can wear black slacks and a black shirt, or some other appropriate outfit. You will want some cool vampire teeth.

One of my personal favoriate outfits for women is a really good pair of vampire teeth, a gothic corset, and some bite marks.

Wonder Woman is one of the most popular costumes for women. It is interesting because the tv show has been off for so many years. There was a movie that was planned for a really long time, but nothing came of it. There was also a relaunch television show planned staring Adrianne Palicki, but the show never was aired. It was filmed and there was alot of interest from the fans but the network decided it wasn't to be. That was too bad because Palicki would make a great wonderwoman. She was really awesome on Friday Night Lights.

Create your own sexy vampire costume

Vampires are always a hot Halloween costume. Men and Women love them. They are so cool because they can be tailored to fit any party and style. You have gothic vampires, steam punk vampires, and sexy vampires. The outfits run the spectrum from classic Dracula and his brides, to the more modern styles seen in films like Underworld with Kate Beckinsale, to the sexy Bayou vamps from True Blood.

You can always get a premade vampire costume, but if you want to put one together yourself, it is really very simple. You can do it and really only have to buy one thing: vampire teeth.

There are a few cool tutorials that show how you can do sexy vampire makeup.

What I would suggest is to figure out the outfit. A cool sexy gothic look would be jeans with a corset style top. Then do some vampy makeup and add the teeth and maybe some bitemarks.

I like the fact that these teeth get really good reviews. If you have every worn the cheap plastic kind, you know that they look really lame and dont ever fit right. These are a good pick if you want something that looks hot and scary.

 So once you have the teeth, then pair them with a sexy outfit. Black pants and a dark shirt would look cool. Or a tight black dress. Anything that has a cool dark and edgy look to it.

If you want to splurge, then this would make an awesome outfit. Tell me this outfit woudl not look amazing. I like this corset top because it is a top of the line piece of clothing. You can wear it out on other occasions. The main thing women should if they can is buying a piece of clothing that will only (or can only) be worn once. This corset is an awesome top that can be worn to clubs, parties, and lots of other non-scary events!

Then in the 1980’s you had some movies like The Hunger (Catherine Deneuve) and Lifeforce (Mathilda May). The Hunger was set in modern day NYC and Lifeforce was set on a spaceship.

Salma Hayek played a vampire in From Dusk till Dawn. She was dancing on stage as a stripper with a boa constriction when she morphed into a vamp.

There were some big films like Underworld staring Kate Beckinsale. And also HBO came out with True Blood (vamps on that show include Evan Rachel Wood and the redhead Deborah Ann Woll).

And then you have the second vampire film from Neil Jordan (after Interview with the Vampire) Byzantium. This one stars Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan

Modern Vampire Moveis

Everyone loves vampire films. Some people love the old classic types, while others prefer the more modern vampire movies. There is a big difference in the whole atmosphere The classic films were based on the old Transylvania style vampires... You had some great ones including Dracula with Bela Lugosi. And

Nosferatu directed by Murnau staring Max Schreck. An interesting trivia note is that they filmed a Spanish language version of Dracula at the same time, using the same costumes and sets, when they filmed the original one with Bela Lugosi.

 The Costumes of Classic Vampire Movies

The hallmarks of these were lavish Gothic style costumes. The setting was usually a castle. In these films the outfits were usually long capes. There were the "brides of dracula" but they had a smaller part. Later on women would come to play vampires in movies, starting in the hammer films.

The Costumes of Modern Vampire Films

One of the more interesting things about modern vampire films is that women started to play the vampires. You saw this in Innocent Blood with Anne Parillaud, the french actress from La Femme Nikita. She was naked throughout most of the film, a great departure from the Gothic old style Bela Lugosi.

Then you had Lair of the White Worm. This is a most unusual vampire film. It was also written by Bram, the same guy who wrote the ordinal Dracula.

In Bloodrayne, you had a more Gothic style, with some steampunk elements. Kristanna Loken played a half human half vampire. She wore a more modern outfit then the old cloaks common in the golden age of Hollywood.

In Underworld, Kate Beckinsale, plays a vampire. She is totally decked out in leather or stretch latex style outfits. Totally sleek and updated.

And of course you know have television shows like True Blood and Vampire Diaries. 

What is Cosplay?

Cosplay stands for the term costume play. People dress up in the costumes of their favorite video game, television show, anime, or movie. It is similar to what you see at the Renaissance Fair, or RenFair, but it is not really in the same catagory. Typically, Cosplay has a much more modern feel to it. In the RenFair circles, you might include things like Civil War reenactors..

Some of the most popular cosplay costumes come from anime and video games. There are some that cross over like Tomb Raider---because that was a movie---and television shows like Game of Thrones.

Characters like Daenerys Targaryen are super popular in the Cosplay Community.

You'll see a lot of cosplay at events like Comic Con. Even celebs get into it, like Oliva Munn.

Women of True Blood

 True blood is one of those shows thats on HBO, gets awesome reviews, and is cool. Guys and girls like it because it has a little something for everyone. It has lots of violence and romance. You have the swooney vampire stuff, but also the fangs and blood and scary stuff.

The shows been on for like 6 seasons now. Who would have thought the girl from 24 Hours would be good at playing a southern belle? It helps that most of the cast is awesome looking. You have GQ guys like Eric the Scandinavian guy. The australian brother is also like a model.

Then you have some really sexy women: Paquin, the redhead vamp Jessica, and each season has a bunch of cool new women. First season had that sexy waitress. Now you have that Jamie Gray Hyder playing a wolf.

Game of Thrones is one of the most popular shows on T.V. It has become really popular because it has a huge sprawling cast, an epic story, and great characters. One of the most uique aspects of this show is that it has an amazing female cast. This is something that is not normally seen on network Television.

In fact, besides Tyrion Lannister, who is played by Peter Dinkalage, most of the most popular characters are females. Certainly Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke, is as popular a character as any fantasy show has ever seen.
